With technical difficulties out of the way I’d like to welcome you to 🙂

I will no longer be updating the old DOR site (, I am trying to setup domain mapping to have you all directed to the new site but it is proving difficult.

When I try to buy my credits to setup the domain mapping the problem is that I can’t get my new site to point at wordpress without it breaking down when I change the DNS settings.

If any one has any tips on domain mapping please let me know.

Muscle Spasms & High Blood Pressure

After a shower this morning and my chest pain was really digging in, I decided not to go to school and go straight to the accident and emergency.

After the doctor shocked me with his cold stethoscope to listen to my ticker and also took my blood pressure.  After consulting with another doctor he said that it may just be a muscle spasm that I am feeling.

My blood pressure was kind of high though; 145/93.  A healthy blood pressure for some one my age should be 120/80.

I brought along my workout folder with me to show him what I have been doing and he said that I need to calm down a bit and not go so hard so fast.  He was concerned that my new workout was too much for me with my blood pressure the way it is and suggested that I go back to a less intensive workout until I can get my blood pressure back to normal.

Then words that came out of his mouth that I didn’t want to hear……“What cardiovascular workout are you doing”


“None” I replied, and he suggested that I throw in some running or cycling into my program to help me get my blood pressure down.

I am currently trying to sell my exercise bike so I can buy a mountain bike but I have had no luck yet.  The exercise bike is a killer, the saddle is like a razor blade and the handlebars are vertical not horizontal, and they are awkwardly positioned to hurt my lower back (which I can’t afford to injure).  Let’s hope I can sell the execution bike soon.

I was thinking of doing Tae Bo, I saw a few workouts on  I’ll have to dig around and find some cardio workout for about 20 minutes that I can do on alternate days from my strength training workouts; until I can get a bike that is.

If anyone has some good ideas for a cardio workout that I can do at home, or maybe you want to donate $100 to my DoR bike fund ::joking!:: ha ha! 😉

But thank God that today’s news wasn’t that bad and my muscle spasm will go away eventually.  I will be changing a few things round on my workout for Wednesday (just until my BP goes down) and I will post it tomorrow.

Pumping Up: Back Muscles & Old Man Quads

I have just finished my morning workout, and like I said I upped my reps from 8 to 10 this morning and I am feeling it (all over!).

When I started on Monday with the added dumbbell weights I had it in mind to really focus on my form when doing my back and legs; the bigger the muscle the bigger fat burn.  I feel that I accomplished this and boy did my quads let me know!  Yesterday I was walking around like an old man as my quads ached.

I made sure that I got a good nights sleep on Monday and last night so I would be able to push through this morning’s workout.  I slept in, waking up at about 4:23am I jumped into action, completely forgetting about my pre-workout stretching.

I will have fallowed the workout that I am on now for 3 weeks this Friday.  I am considering changing it for next week to keep my variations in motion for each workout that I do.  Well more about that when i change it over the weekend.

So this Friday I will nudge my reps up again to 12.

Feel The Burn!

Wow that was a HOT workout!  This morning I took out all the stops like I said in yesterday’s post and boy was it effective!  I started off with some stretching; I stretched all the major muscle groups that I would cover in my workout.

I then powered through the first circuit with no problem and then towards the end of the second circuit I was feeling an intense burn all over, especially in my middle deltoids and shoulder muscles.  The third circuit I really had to focus on form, to be honest I wanted to stop but I slogged my way through to the end.

I went to bed early last night, about 8:45pm and I believe that helped a lot.

I am so sleepy now, I’m thinking it would be lovely to have today off.  But can’t do that I have to go in; can’t let the team down.  Anyway this week is nice and short due to the Chinese New Year so I only have a 3 day week, cool huh?

I am going to hop off now and cool down and then jump into a nice hot shower.

Revenge Of The Tummy Munches!

Oh no they are back! I have had the worst tummy munches today. I have had to put up a fight today, this has been the worst I have been since I have started my fat busting mission. My wife had to pry open my mouth to get a pillow out this morning; I was having a dream about ice cream! ::sigh::

And by lunch time I was thinking about Pizza Hut ::AAHHHH!!!!:: Hot melted cheese with ……. ::AAHHHH!!!!:: That’s one of the bad things about Indonesia, I can get an extra large Pizza Hut pizza with extra cheese, toppings and delivery costs for about £2.64 ($5) 😛 that’s just tempting me! How can I make a valid excuse that it’s too expensive. ::sigh:: And my helpful wife keeps humming the Pizza Hut tune from the commercial ::grrrr!::

I am resisting the urges too feed! ::sigh:: I hope I’ll reach the end of the day. I am going to sit down and watch a movie to pass the time away.

I have a big glass of ice cold water, so lets toast to scratchy hungry tummies and a good nights sleep.

New Phrase Log: Interval Training

From the amount of stuff on the internet about ‘Interval Training’ I am probably the last person in the world to catch on, so let me have my moment. ::grin::

Steve from No More Fat Dad kicked me off with this and I went-a-lookin’ (intentional) for the latest scoop on the subject.  I was expecting rocket science and I got; slow, fast, slow, fast, slow, fast…… you get the picture? 

Ok it seems that our body naturally (is a lazy sod!) tries to conserve energy when we do some cardio at a steady pace.  So basically doing the same pace for 30 minutes after about 5 minutes our body has buggered off into autopilot and starts to conserve the little bugger calories that we are trying to squeeze out of our sweat pours. ::sigh::

Sorry If I sound a little emotional, just a little annoyed to find out that my body has been working against me every time I do cardio………. the whole one time that I have done cardio this year…….err 

Ok so if we go fast, then slow, then fast, etc, etc we trick our bodies from going into hyper sleep and storing calories and we can burn off more fat. Now this is the theory, I am going to put this into practice next week and see how it goes.

Workout Update – Bulking Up

Strength training workout is going well, I can’t say the same about my cardio workout.  I am going to be intensifying my strength training program over the weekend so I can start Monday from a higher altitude.

I have been doing the same strength training workout for the passed what, coming up 3 and a half weeks (this Friday).  I feel this week that my muscles are already too use to the program.  Time to step it up a little.

No for the dreaded cardio ::shreak!:: I don’t have a worth while excuse for not doing this other than the exercise bike seat feels like a razor blade and currently I don’t have the cash to buy a mountain bike ::sniff, sniff:: 

I am going to build myself up to get on the razor blade starting on Tuesday and pushing through three sessions next week; doing my cardio workouts on alternate days (then at the end of the week lets see if I have any buttocks left to continue).

I am feeling a lot of changes in my body.  The fat around my stomach has really become softer (my wife can confirm this) and of course I am feeling new muscles that I never knew I had.  Also feeling much more energetic and loving life.

I am really optimistic about my progress and I know that I can continue to discipline myself and win my 100kg prize!
